Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 August 2026

Bar Signal is operated by Efflictim Ltd. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@barsignal.co.uk and we'll help directly.

What we collect

Account data — name, email address, and password (handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store your password in plain text).

Product data you create — leads you save, notes and reminders you add, and the alert preferences (frequency, boroughs, activity types) you set.

Licence notice data — the premises-licence applications shown in your feed are not collected about you or from you. They're sourced from public council licensing registers, the Gazette, and cross-referenced with the public Companies House register. This is already-public information; we just make it easier to find early.

Why we process it

To operate the account you sign up for, send the alert emails you configure, and respond when you contact us. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small set of infrastructure providers to run the service: Supabase (database and login), Resend (sending the digest emails you sign up for), and the Companies House API (public company lookups). Each only receives what it needs to perform that function, and none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Payment information

Bar Signal is in early access and does not currently collect card details or process payments. This policy will be updated with full payment-processor details before any paid plan goes live.

Cookies

We use only the essential session cookie needed to keep you signed in. We don't run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. Email hello@barsignal.co.uk at any time to have your account and associated data deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or object to how we process it. Contact hello@barsignal.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let account holders know by email.
